CDR welcomes her appointment and looks forward to working with her to enhance the impact and value of UK aid. In particular we want to ensure that the reforms announced under Priti Patel not only deliver enhanced transparency and value for money but also enhance development outcomes for beneficiaries. Enhanced consultation with suppliers and partners in the sector in setting policy priorities and implementing any changes will be key to achieving this aim.
This is an important time in the UK development sector and collaboration across the sector will be required to ensure DFID continues to meet its development objectives and ensure the effective delivery of UK aid. We look forward to being part of the continued work to communicate and defend the aid budget as well as ensure that policy priorities across government are aligned and that other government departments meet the high standards of transparency and value for money that DFID has set for UK aid spend.
