Theresa May visits DAI Project Empowering Female Entrepreneurs in Jordan

As part of her three-day trip to the Middle East, the PM visited our member DAI's Arab Women’s Enterprise Fund (AWEF) in Amman, Jordan and met with female entrepreneurs who benefit from the initiative.

"AWEF addresses some of the most persistent constraints on women’s economic empowerment in a region with one of the lowest rates of female labour force participation in the world.

It aims to improve gender awareness and sensitivity among key actors in the local economy, to increase employment and retention of women in the labour force, and to improve certification of products made by women working at home.

Greater female participation in the Jordanian workforce will improve livelihoods, support economic growth, and contribute to a more resilient social and economic infrastructure." - DAI
